'Buzzsaw Building'

Even in a city as well known for skyscrapers and modern architecture as Chicago, the two Marina City buildings on the north side of the Chicago River are easily recognisable. Cylindrical and with hundreds of similarly designed balconies and windows, these stately structures take up one whole block of busy Chicago street life as well as a small marina—thus the name—at its base. Layered between the marina and the apartments is a garage that when observed sideways appears to be a large buzzsaw mechanism with dark sharp blades.
