'Lasagna Building'

Separated from the automotive hurry and noise of the loop going around the vast Texas city, this unusual modernist layered structure north of San Antonio merits a stop on Highway 410 in order for the complexity, angles and dimensions to fully be analyzed. The best time to drive by it is early morning, which gives most light on the only memorable side of the building—its east-facing facade. Unlike other large cities in Texas, San Antonio’s architectural offerings span centuries, from modern structures like this one, to the legendary Alamo.
